What do you call a hardtail race bike that is so light that it can outshine most racing bikes? Well, we suppose you could call it a hardtail road bike, but the S-Works Epic Hardtail is a better name. Although the bike's scales only show a marginal change, we have equipped it with enough performance to cope with a whole range of tasks. The pursuit of the lightest bike possible has long been a race within a race, but at what price? The fight for every gram was not fought without sacrifices - XC hardtail race bikes stand for a tough, nervous driving experience at the expense of performance and versatility. But who said that fighting such a horse makes you faster? Instead, we realized that the fastest bike is more than just the lightest.
