We love and live aerodynamics because we know we can do the fastest with aerodynamic optimization. And this philosophy is especially noticeable in the new Venge. As with all our Pro models, the Venge Pro eTAP offers almost the same performance as all of its S-Works siblings, but at a more attractive price point. Equipped with SRAM's new Force eTAP AXS 12-speed range for all gearshift and brake applications, you'll glide through the wind with our Roval CL 50 carbon wheels. On top of that, there's the S-Works handlebar, the S-Works seat post and the popular Power Saddle, and you're ready to attack at your local race or at the first Gran Fondo.
- In the search for the best tube shapes, we did not start with the wind tunnel this time. Instead, we've developed a new technology: our Free Foil Shape Library. Our engineers have written an optimization algorithm to generate new aerodynamic shapes that have different weights, fiber assignments, and structural goals as required. We were then able to apply this variety of shapes to the design of the Venge and test various combinations in the wind tunnel to find out which combination is the fastest. The result? Compared to the Venge ViAS, we've gotten eight seconds faster on 40 km at 0 degrees of wind.
- The perfect combination of weight and aerodynamics plays a crucial role in the overall performance of a bicycle. Not only did we make the Venge more aerodynamic than the ViAS, but we also saved 460 grams. That means we saved 240 g in the frame, 25 g in the fork, 107 g in the cockpit, 25 g in the seat post and 63 g in small parts. No matter which course, the Venge will prove to be the fastest option, whether it's uphill or downhill.
- At the Venge, too, we've done a lot of our Rider-First Engineered ™ insights from Tarmac development, such as fiber-occupancy or carbon fiber selection. And that made the Venge not only lighter, but also better in terms of stiffness and weight - in any frame size. And even if you do not recognize these changes with the naked eye, it only takes one exit to feel the fast acceleration.
