What if we took all of our collective experience from the last 46 years of serving riders and built a road bike for the love of riding? The design of the Aethos masters the balancing act of perfect ride quality, extremely low weight and undeniable style. And this Aethos Comp model is no exception.
The reliable construction with the low-maintenance, wireless Rival eTap AXS gears from SRAM, the hydraulic disc brakes and the ultra-durable DT Swiss R470 Disc wheels has everything you need to inspire you on the road.
- The Aethos frame creates the perfect combination of ultimate ride, low weight and unparalleled style - from acceleration on steep climbs and technical descents to all-day comfort on even the longest coffee rides - the Aethos always hits the mark. We used supercomputer simulations to subtly alter round tube shapes. As a result, their shapes became more conical in key areas to achieve huge gains in rigidity and balance with a minimum of material. No unnecessary material, just more stability and integrity.
- The Aethos frame is the perfect combination of ultimate riding experience, low weight and unparalleled style. From acceleration on steep climbs to technical descents to incredible comfort on even the longest coffee rides, the Aethos always hits the mark. But how does it do that, you may ask. With the help of a supercomputer, we optimized the traditional racing bike shape of older bikes in a completely new way. The shapes have been subtly changed to provide massive advantages in stiffness and balance without negatively affecting weight or durability. In conjunction with our completely new layup process, which has been perfected over decades, this resulted in the lightest frame available (585 g for the S-Works model with frame height 56). The Aethos is more than just a new bike, it's the first of a new breed of bikes.
- A featherweight frame is useless without confidence-inspiring riding characteristics. That's why we designed the Aethos to have exceptional riding qualities and to find the perfect balance of stiffness within the bike. In addition, extensive tests on the flexibility of carbon fibers allowed us to gain groundbreaking insights into how forces are distributed within a bicycle frame. After you pedal for the first time, you'll notice that the exceptional handling sets a new standard.
- The design of every detail, from the derailleur hangers to the fork crown, has been developed with style, weight and durability in mind. We even used Roval's brand new Alpinist seatpost to save even more weight and further improve ride quality. Everything about this bike strives for the perfect ride.
